Corporate History
We started working as consultants in 2000, and we quickly realized that we loved it. Logical was incorporated in July 2002.
Many people have asked whether we have regrets about making that daring leap into incorporation the year after the terrorist attacks of 9/11, in the wake of the .com bubble burst.
The answer is no. For one thing, we stayed busy, as our portfolio of projects shows, so it wasn't as painful for us as it was for some. But in addition, we look back fondly on those tough economic times, because it helped us to become keenly interested in learning more about our clients and what they value. The experience has shaped all of the years that have followed.
Wondering how we are faring in the current economic climate?
We're weathering the current downturn fairly well. We have a steady flow of work. Granted, the projects are smaller than we are used to, but, hey, we didn't go into consulting for the security. Also, we are getting lots of inquiries about upcoming projects, so apparently people still need us.
We're taking this opportunity to position ourselves for the years to come. As Ann mentioned in the blog, some key factors are inspiring us: (1) Large companies and organizations that were formerly fairly satisfied with paying a lot of money for mediocre work are looking for competitive options and are willing to consider new vendors. (2) As some of our key contacts are being displaced, our brand will be carried with them to their new organizations. (3) It's a great time to expand capabilities and strengthen our offerings by more firmly establishing relationships with other consultants and microbusinesses.
So our long-term forecast is great. Short-term, Logical is incredibly resistant to cash flow issues because the company has always been debt free. This allows us to continue focusing on our clients instead of our payments.
We're doing just fine. And we sincerely hope you are too.
